This project involved an international team, and the client hired an interior design firm to produce detailed concept drawings. The architect and engineer team, through intensive coordination, translated this concept into detailed construction drawings and eventually into a near-exact replication of the computer-generated version. The existing space was a 30,000 sq. ft. office warehouse with a tilt-wall shell, so the project was an interior build-out that included a showroom on the main floor and administrative office space on a mezzanine. The primary purpose of the design was to showcase large medical imaging equipment, with presentation and lighting methods being key to achieving this goal.
The project took approximately two years, from design to completion. This architect, operating on a contract basis as the project architect for the architect of record, performed all roles and responsibilities for the project’s completion, from client and consultant coordination to producing construction documents and construction administration.
