The clients had outgrown and grown weary of tight accommodations in their existing modest 1800 SF residence. In addition, family gatherings needed room to prepare and celebrate, interior and exterior.
The architect proposed a bold transformation and departure from the existing; a new image and new house compared to the old! The architectural solution introduced 775 SF of new interior space which included completely remodeling and expanding the existing kitchen, bathrooms, and master suite; adding a new story and half entry foyer; and introducing a new exterior porch of 175 SF.
The transformation was accomplished by extending the front facade approximately 20 feet while simultaneously reconfiguring the interior spaces, centralizing the exterior elevation in the new entry foyer, and introducing new finishes in the stone masonry, heavy timber, and custom millwork.
